Wednesday 19th March

Photo's added to gallery from Sunday evenings meeting. Once again thankyou very much Robin for another fantastic job.

Sunday 16th March

Our grand opening night was a fantastic success thanks to the superb set played by Martin Simpson. We can't thank you enough for supporting the club and welcome you back as an artist or guest anytime.

The evening was rounded off by four very brave artists, who followed Martin's performance and continued the enjoyment for a very large and appreciative audience.

Our next meeting on Sunday 16th March will mark the official launch of the club.  We are thrilled that Martin Simpson has offered to come along and open up for us.

For those who don't already know, Martins performing career started at the Scunthorpe Folk Club (from which our current club originates) way back in the late 1960's.  He has since been recognised for many years as one of the worlds finest guitarist/singer/songwriters.  Among his numerous awards are 2 from this years BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for best album (Prodigal Son) and best original song (Never Any Good).

For all his success and fame, Martin has never forgotten his Scunthorpe roots, and he remains a great friend of the town and our club.  It is a fantastic gesture that he wants to come along and help create interest in what we are doing.

You can visit his web site at:    http://www.martinsimpson.com/

Club regulars have the opportunity to make up the rest of the evenings programme, and it would help immensely if anyone definitely wanting to perform could let me know in advance.  I already have 3 names on the list.

Other than Martins appearance, this will be a normal club night - £2 on the door.

Well done to Dick for getting our new lighting system up and running, and to Terry for organising our SAMC backdrop.

Sunday 17th Feb

Our second meeting was again another great success, we had the pleasure of being entertained by eight different artists.

Infact with all the interest, we have revised our kick off time to 8pm for future nights, to allow time for more acts to perform.

The gallery will be updated soon with photo's from the night so please keep checking back!

Thanks to everyone who came along last month, and especially the performers who provided us with some great entertainment throughout the evening.

It was encouraging that so may people turned out for our first session in January. Please pass the word round to anyone you believe may be interested to ensure each month is such a success.

This month we have the excellent 'Carillion' performing the full secong half for us, good luck to Lesley, Martin and Bob!

MC Bob has taken a fall and broken his shoulder so no Smokin' Ukulele playing this time. Let's hope he has a speedy recovery, but until then we can still enjoy his jokes!
